Miyako and her students will hold an ikebana exhibition at the Sackville Public Library on Feb 22-23, 2025.
Ikebana, the art of Japanese flower arranging, has a minimalist style that puts importance on negative space, imbalance, imperfection, and impermanence. Miyako Ballesteros, teacher of the Sogetsu School, has been teaching ikebana in Halifax since 2008. She and her senior students present a variety of arrangements for you to enjoy and understand this art form. There will be a live demonstration on Sunday, Feb 23rd, at 1 pm where you can see ikebana arrangements created right in front of you!
Admission is free.
